Block Lighting has a multi-tiered
approach to what we do:
SUPPLY – When a state university is
going through its routine maintenance of re-lamping the schools
dormitories over the summer break Block Lighting was able to deliver
thousands of the parts it needed on time and below the current state
pricing schedule.
RECOMMEND – Perhaps the easier part
of what we do is recommending fixtures and different bulbs to meet
the customer's specified objectives. The industry is always evolving
and we stay on top of those changes from T8 to T5 fluorescent
technology and even LED recessed troffers.
RETROFIT – Faced with rising energy
costs as well as commodity costs one state Department of
Transportation looked to Block Lighting to help upgrade it's High Pressure Sodium street lighting to newer LED fixtures. We supplied
the retrofitted LED decorative post top lights, cobrahead street
lights at the most competitive prices on the market we also
arraigned the installation. Yes, we're that good. To get started on the road to LED Street Lighting and LED Parking Lots / Garage lighting click here and ask for info.
RECYCLE – When a municipal school
system had thousands of spent fluorescent bulbs stacking up in it's
different school buildings Block Lighting was able to work with the
city school maintenance supervisor to develop a plan to pick-up and
recycle all its spent mercury waste and keep it compliant with EPA
Title 40.
We supply Federal Agencies, Independent
School Districts, Universities, City Electrical Departments, Traffic
Engineering, State Department of Transportation and just about
everything we didn't list.
Commercial
Accounts
Block Lighting has worked the closest
with property management companies, and other commercial property
entities and we have development tools to help you streamline
lighting procurement and quality control.

SUPPLY – A regional commercial
property management company had over 120 different locations with
their own billing and shipping specifications as well as it's own
list of lights from high pressure sodium to fluorescent and halogen bulbs, fixtures and ballasts used at each location. Block Lighting
stepped up and lowered the firms maintenance expenses, removed an
entire department by streamlining a lights list with a location
number given to each manager which survives turnover, and worked with
tenants on behalf of the property management to help the clients of
the firm achieve their desired look and feel. The result: Block
Lighting customer for life.
RECOMMEND – A building superintendent
calls about a hot dimmer switch for the display lights in a gallery
hallway and needs to know whats going on... we're here to help!
RETROFIT - When a commercial property
management company needed to find a suitable light fixture replacement
for their 9th floor parking deck Block Lighting was able
to retrofit from older Metal Halide light fixtures to newer vapor tight T5 fluorescent fixtures... providing more light, twice the bulb
life and lower maintenance costs. All this at half the competition's
price.
RECYCLE – When a multi million dollar
corporate campus started it's recycling program it turned to Block
Lighting. We were able to assess what the company needed and provide
a cost effective solution that didn't tie up personal with cumbersome
EPA regulations and bulb crushing. Besides linear fluorescent light bulbs were only a part of the over 70 types of bulbs used in the
campus... they needed a more comprehensive solution for their high pressure sodium parking lots, metal halide lights for the walkways,
compact fluorescents used in the hallways, and the list goes on.
They are compliant at a low cost after a little help from Block
Lighting.

self storage companies to billion dollar property management firms

Hospitality
Block Lighting is a partner with some

reason. Block Lighting has a catalog specifically designed for the
Hotel and Motel market. Whether your location has a Engineering
staff or whether the General Manager purchases lighting, our catalog
is straight forward and easy to use.

SUPPLY – When a large hospitality
management company needed to consolidate the purchasing of lighting
equipment they turned to Block Lighting. With the help of the
engineers at each location we were able to create a custom catalog
for the company, and price the company as a whole rather than
individual small buyers.
RECOMMEND – We are always getting
asked how to brighten a room, or keep glare out of an area and even
how to create a more relaxing room... Block Lighting is always ready
and able to help...
RETROFIT – When a General Manager
contacted us saying that his franchise company was mandating a
retrofit... he turned to Block Lighting. We were able to provide him
with the latest styles in energy efficient compact fluorescent light fixtures... Block Lighting also took the extra step to gain approval
from the international parent company... We were able to provide the
GM with a completely new and updated look... in about 3
conversations.
RECYCLING – Now more than ever
recycling is becoming a hot topic... no where is this more true than
with lighting. Most of the lamps used in the hospitality industry
contain mercury, a regulated substance, which must by law be recycled
(EPA Title 40). The problem is that most hotel and motels do not use
lamps in large enough quantities to justify a bulb crushing /
hazardous waste system. Block Lighting has just the solution for
your needs.
WHO WE SERVE:
- Hilton Family
- Intercontinental Hotel Group
- Starwood
- Choice Hotels
and all the others!
Industrial
Industrial customers have some of the most unique needs when it comes to lighting. In most cases their lighting systems are either really old... or are the newest on the market. Either way we've been serving industrial customers such as nuclear power plants, food processing facilities, shipyards and many others since our founding in 1992.

SUPPLY – Not every customer calls and orders several hundred pounds of Emergency batteries or needs pallets of low pressure sodium bulbs transported on their shipping accounts... but Block Lighting specializes in working with procurement officials to guarantee that all expectations are met, period.
RECOMMEND – When a power generation company needed ideas on brightening parking areas while meeting specific environmental and efficiency targets Block Lighting was able to deliver a solution custom fit for their application.
RETROFIT – Not many people call and ask for OSHA approved safety coated fluorescent light bulbs... but just about all of our food processing customers do. We sell Teflon, Silicone and Plastic coated metal halide, high pressure sodium, and fluorescent light bulbs.
RECYCLE – Whether you need to recycle spent High Pressure Sodiums or recycle old switch gear Block Lighting and our sister company Block Recycling are here to assist you.
